Located in the quiet part of the city, the hotel is a no-frills, no-fancy, just a simple, good hotel. Friendly staff and located within walking reach of all shops, restaurants and metro, this is ideal for those wanting a good place to stay and relax. Food wise don't expect much. Simple, home style food. Breakfast has got decent options - idly, dosa, vada, coffee, tea, toast and omelet. Lunch and dinner are best taken care of elsewhere. You have lots of choices. Overall, a good place.

We enjoyed our stay at the Vellara hotel. We needed to buy an Indian SIM card to get data during our trip in India and the hotel staff went above and beyond to help with this and a variety of other things like what to see locally, assistance to book one day tours, etc. The rooms were clean and spacious. The buffet style breakfast offered was delicious and included tea, coffee, toast, eggs prepared as guests want, masala dosa, idli and a few curry options like sambar. The hotel is four mins walk from brigade road which houses tons of shops, restaurants, bars, etc. Not about the hotel: Beware of shop owners who may pressure you to buy if you go in to look. We had to learn to say no firmly.

I have stayed at the Vellara several times and my Mum has stayed here for the last 15 years on every visit to Bangalore. The Owners, Managers, all the staff are so friendly, attentive and customer focused. The rates have always been very reasonable. The rooms are spacious, clean, good aircon and fans. The cleaning staff and room service is excellent - the room service food is great with a large menu of Indian , Chinese and some western dishes. The laundry is so fast and comes back perfectly pressed. The breakfasts vary every day with light Indian dishes and omelette to Order. The Vellara is perfectly situated with a shop next door (All Saints), a drugstore across the road and literally a 5 min walk to Brigade Road or 10 min walk to Garuda Mall We have never had a bad experience at the Hotel Vellara I would highly recommend it for singles, couples or families

The room and location are ok but the food is not ok. The food brought at night to the room was uncovered and chapaties not wrapped. We sent back the food. Thereafter at 9:45 pm no vegetable was available. We have to take daal only. The facade of the hotel is not beautiful. Breakfast was not up to the mark.

I have never seen a cleaner city hotel. Comfortable rooms, nice food and good service. Hotel is at a walking distance from Brigade road. And you have lots of eateries and pubs - of all budgets and cuisines close by.
